4th Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy : Koijam Indraban bowls MPSC to 148 run victory over YPHUC

MPSC-Manipur Central Jail rode on Koijam Indraban's six wicket haul to crush YPHUC-Lalambung Makhong by 148 runs in the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy which resumed today after a short new year break.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, MPSC racked up 185 runs losing 10 wickets in 18.3 overs at Lairenjam Public Ground and successfully defended their competitive total by bowling out YPHUC for 37 runs within 9 overs for the fourth Group C win on the trot.
The result also helped them climb on top of the Group table.
Potsangbam Bonem 51 (off 31 balls, 8 fours) and Sarangthem Shangker 62 (off 31 deliveries; 6 fours and 4 sixes) scored half centuries for MPSC in the innings which saw Irom Ishor (3/45), Ksh Rishi (2/33) and Gurumayum Prince Sharma (2/34) of YPHUC sharing 7 crucial wickets to bowl out their rivals in 18.3 overs.

In reply, YPHUC batting line up were left in tatters as Koijam Indraban swept 6 wickets alone to finish with the best figures of 6/9 in 4 overs that include one maiden and Maibam Bijoykumar and Sarangthem Shangker picked a wicket apiece to bowl them out for just 37 runs.
Indraban who produced an impeccable bowling performance was adjudged man of the match.
In another Group C match staged at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College Ground, KIYC's Abdulla Khan enjoyed a fifer (5/14) but his effort went in vain as FORCE sealed a 66 runs victory.
FORCE were bundled out for 126 runs in 18.5 overs despite Md Kabir's unbeaten 43 with Abdulla Khan leading the bowling attack.
However the total proved too big for KIYC as Tashib Alam (3/29 in 4 overs), Md Kabir Ahmed (2/3 in 1.3 overs) and Saddam Ahmed Shah (2/13 in 4 overs) of FORCE put in a concerted effort to bowl them out for 60 runs within 15.3 overs.
Md Kabir Ahmed who starred with both the bat and ball was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile at Moijing Public Ground, Thongam Joychandra scored a 52-ball 61 and picked two wickets (2/31 in 4 overs) to hand MPA-Thounaojam a close 13 run victory over THAU-Thangmeiband.
It was the first Group (B) stage victory for the Thounaojam team in four matches.
MPA registered a modest total of 120 runs for 5 wickets courtesy Joychandra after they won the toss and elected to bat first.
THAU however faced a stiff resistance from MPA bowlers and were bundled out for 107 runs in 19.3 overs.
Vivekraj Chabungbam was the pick of the MPA bowlers as he returned with the bowling figures of 4/8 in 3.3 overs while Elangbam Rohit (2/15) and Joychandra (2/31) shared four wickets between them.
Barun Ngangom 32 and Ahanthem Bikramjit 22 were the main run getters for THAU in the chase.
Joychandra of MPA was eventually adjudged man of the match.
The day also saw NCA-Ningthoukhong open their winning account in four matches (Group D) by beating OSCAR-Paona Bazar by 9 runs at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Moirangthem Karamachand hit a 46-ball 70 before he retired hurt and Bobby Yumnam 29 and Angom Robinhood 30 were unbeaten as NCA piled up 154/1 after electing to bat first .
OSCAR ended up gathering 145/6 in the chase despite Sanjit Thounaojam's 25-ball 40 (3 fours and 2 sixes) to go down by 9 runs.
Pukhrambam Hilbert of NCA returned with the best figures of 2/18 in this innings as four others picked up a wicket apiece.
The Group A match scheduled at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground saw RCA-Lilong get a walkover win against SDC- Laipham Khunou.
