Mass rally marks World Oral Health Month

As part of the ongoing World Oral Health Month celebration, the Department of Orthodontics, Dentofacial Orthopaedics and Paediatrics Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, successfully organised a mass rally today to promote oral health awareness among the public.
According to a release issued by RIMS, the rally was flagged off by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, from Jubilee Hall, RIMS gate.
Participants marched through Lamphel traffic island, passing Tanthapolis Cinema and Sanakeithel Supermarket before concluding the rally back at Jubilee Hall, RIMS.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 150 individuals, including the Deputy Director (Admn), Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, Dean (Academics), Principal of Dental College, Vigilance Officer, dental students, faculty members and staff members.
The participants carried placards and chanted slogans dedicated to World Oral Health Day, reinforcing the significance of maintaining good oral hygiene.
The primary objective of the rally was to educate the public about the vital connection between oral health and overall well-being, emphasizing its impact on both physical and mental health.
Through this initiative, RIMS aimed to encourage preventive oral care and raise awareness about the importance of regular dental check-ups, healthy dietary habits, and maintaining optimal oral hygiene practices.
The World Oral Health Month campaign will continue with various outreach programs, workshops, and awareness drives in the coming weeks.
