MSCW interacts with IDPs, DLOs

Thoubal, March 20 2025:
Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) in coordination with Thoubal district administration held a camp sitting at the conference hall of Thoubal DC Office Complex on Wednesday, to assess the living condition of IDPs and conflict affected families.
In the interaction meeting, member secretary W Phajatombi Devi said that MSCW was established as statutory body at the state level to safeguard the in terest of women and to look into women related issues.
She continued that the present living status of the IDPs in different relief camps is of great concern.
The IDPs, especially women, are facing lots problem, she noted and urged departments concerned to address needs of the IDPs in every possible way.
MSCW chairperson Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang, who chaired the meeting, expressed satisfaction that the district administration is trying its level best to help the needs of the IDPs.
She also urged department concerned to organise awareness programme for the women living in different relief camps in the district.
During the camp sitting, DC A Subhash Singh stated that the district administration in coordination with the various related departments is monitoring the needs of the IDPs of the different relief camps in the district.
He said that the skill development training was given to the camp residents from time to time to sustain their livelihood.
Members of MSWC, Thoubal ADM B Lokeshor Sharma, SDO, CMO, ZEO, PHED executive engineer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Progratnme Officer (DPO), representatives of IDPs and different NGOs in Thoubal district also participated in the interaction session.
