After attack, AR dismantles UKNA training camp

Imphal, March 07 2025:
After the armed United Kuki National Army (UKNA) fired several rounds at a team of Assam Rifles, which was on patrolling duty at Khopijang village under Henglep sub-division in Churachandpur district on Thursday, the training camp of the outfit in Henglep was dismantled by security forces on Friday.
According to a police report, as part of measures to bring a solution to the prevailing situation in the state, construction for a pre-fabricated camp for deployment of central forces between S Khonom and Khopijang villages was undertaken.
In connection with the construction, the AR troopers were patrolling on foot for area domination, when they were fired upon by UKNA on Thursday.
As a response to the attack, AR dismantled a training camp of the armed outfit in Henglep.
However, there were no reports of any arrests of the cadres or seizures of weapons from the camp.
