Govt to start bus, heli services, warns against disruption

Imphal, March 07 2025:
The government has announced the commencement of inter-district bus services under CAPF escort and helicopter operations to alleviate public inconveniences and support efforts to restore normalcy in the state.
According to a press release of the chief secretary, the bus service will be operated by Manipur State Transport (MST) on designated routes from March 8, starting at 9 AM from Imphal Airport.
The bus routes include Imphal-Kangpokpi-Senapati, Senapati-Kangpokpi-Imphal, Imphal-Bishnupur-Churachandpur, and Churachandpur-Bishnupur-Imphal.
Additionally, the government has reiterated the launch of helicopter services under the Manipur Heli Service every Wednesday and Saturday, starting on March 8 in between Imphal and Churachandpur, and between Imphal and Ukhrul on Saturdays, to provide better connectivity to remote areas.
The press release encouraged the public to avail of these transport services.
It also warned that anyone found disrupting the movement of MST buses will be prosecuted under relevant laws.
