Moreh-bound edibles distributed to relief camps

Six persons along with five Eeco vans loaded with edibles were detained by Langathel public on Thursday on suspicion of attempt to transport rations for Kuki militants at Moreh.
The detained vehicles and persons were brought to Langathel Kangjeibung where a public meeting resolved that the impounded items should be distributed to the relief camps and to release the vehicles and the drivers after reaching an understanding with them not to repeat it again.
Speaking to media persons, KALL Langathel secretary Lenil Puyam disclosed that based on inputs about goods being stealthily transported to Moreh through the Langthabal to Koijam village road which passes through NH102, the locals have been keeping strict vigil.
Around 5 am Thursday, the five vehicles were halted at Hangoipat Chingjin area and on questioning it was found that the goods were headed for Moreh, he informed.
Lenil continued that the public and seven clubs of Langathel have decided to distribute the seized items to relief camps.
