Nupi Lup demands apology

Awang Sekmai Kanba Nupi Lup has demanded the miscreants who were involved in displaying abusive words in their car to appear at the Lup's office and tender apology at the earliest.
According to Awang Sekmai Kanba Nupi Lup, members of the Lup were checking vehicles plying along the highway on June 13 as preventive measures considering the ongoing conflict in the State.
At around 8.42 pm, members of the Lup tried to stop a Baleno car at Sekmai Bazar area to check whether there were any illegal items present in the car.
As the womenfolk came nearer, the back glass of the car was reportedly seen displaying writings insulting the women of the Meitei community.
The car fled towards Kanglatongbi side at high speed when the womenfolk tried to stop the car after seeing the writings.
Awang Sekmai Kanba Nupi Lup has strongly condemned the unfortunate incident and cautioned all to refrain from repeating such acts which may hurt the sentiments of other communities especially during these difficult times.
Awang Sekmai Kanba Nupi Lup further warned of legal actions against the persons involved in the unfortunate incident of June 13 if they do not come forward and apologise to the Lup at the earliest.
