Moreh, June 24 2026:
The Assam Rifles, incoordination with the local civil administration, conducted a comprehensive two-day antidengue fogging drive across the border town of Moreh in Tengnoupal district as part of effort to prevent the spread of vector-borne diseases.
According to IGAR (South), the joint initiative was undertaken following reports of a rise in vector-bome disease cases in the border region.
The drive focused on strengthening preventive healthcare measures and promoting a clean and safe environment for the local population.
The extensive fumigation exercise covered key residential zones, bustling marketplaces, public squares, educational institutions and other highly vulnerable sectors across the town.
Beyond the physical fogging operations, the security personnel actively engaged with the residents to enhance grassroots awareness regarding essential vector-control measures.
Households were educated on critical preventive practices, including the elimination of stagnant water sources, proper waste disposal and the maintenance of rigorous personal hygiene to disrupt mosquito breeding cycles.
The timely intervention received widespread appreciation from the border community, effectively demonstrating the impact of collaborative public health initiatives in securing a safer, disease-free environment.
