Book on Kuki narco-terrorism released

A book titled "Manipuri Yelhoumishingda Chin Kuki Narco Terrorismgi Cheitheng" written by Brojen Ningthouja was released during a function held at Nachou Awang Maning Leikai community hall, on Sunday.
The book based on the ethnic violence between the Meiteis and Kukis has been written both in Meetei Mayek and Bengali script.
The book release function was attended by Nachou Zilla Parishad member Th Dilip Meitei, AMUCO advisor Dr Y Mani Khuman, SK Women's College Nambol Department of Human Rights assistant professor Dr L Muhindro, Moirang College retired vice principal N Debah Singh, Ningthoukhong Model High School retired Head Master H Kulladhwaja Sharma and Stanford Photon School Nachou principal M Dwijamani Singh as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, Brojen Ningthouja contended that Kukis are nomadic tribe who settles in places by driving out the original settlers, and he has written the book to make the future generation aware of the facts of the Kukis.
Dr Y Mani Khuman also said that he has read the book and the actual cause of the present ethnic violence in Manipur has been presented elaborately.
The book can be kept for documentation for the benefit of future generations to come, he opined.
