Activity based learning programme attempts to bring fun back into lives of displaced children

Alphabetz International Preschool, Imphal organised an "activity based learning and learning with fun" programme for children between the age of two and a half and seven years at Lamboikhongnangkhong Relief Camp today.
Conducted under the theme of "Creating Smiles", the programme was sponsored by Pebam Rakesh Singh, Proprietor AarJay Solutions from Sagolband Meino Leirak Machin, Imphal.
Altogether 30 children participated in today's programme at Lamboikhongnangkhong relief camp.
Speaking in this connection, Pebam Rakesh stated that the programme was organised to foster interaction among the children and introduce fun and educational activities to occupy some of their time.
During the programme, the children are taught about cognitive development, physical development, language development and social and emotional skills, he said.
As 80% of the brain development occurs during the age group of 2.5 to 7 years, it is imperative to encourage the inborn talents of children during these ages and impart them with beneficial messages and lessons for their future.
He added that similar programmes for kids will be conducted in other relief camps very soon.
Centre Head of Alphabetz International Preschool, Sagolband Meino Leirak Machin, Imphal Nickyta Haobam also taught and interacted with the children with the assistance of preschool teachers Bandana Ningthoujam, Khangembam Andy Devi and Purnima.
Meanwhile, Pebam Jayalaxmi, Proprietor, AarJay Kitchen provided refreshments for the gathering during the programme.
