Global Manipur Federation calls for solidarity in The Hague

The Central Europe Chapter of Global Manipur Federation on Saturday organised a display of unity and support at The Hague, Netherlands in connection with the ongoing turmoil in Manipur, with the aim to foster harmony and peace in the troubled state.
Underneath the historic backdrop of the Peace Palace, members of Manipuri and other Indian communities in Central Europe gathered to act as peace ambassadors, sending a strong message of healing and restoration to their homeland.
The highlight of the event was the peace prayer session, which took place from 2 pm to 6 pm in front of the Peace Palace.
The proceedings commenced with a two minute silence, paying homage to the victims of the turmoil.
This was followed by emotional narratives that shed light on the challenges faced by Manipur during the crisis with speakers highlighting the difficulties endured by the people of Manipur over the past 116 days since the violence erupted on May 3 .
Attendees fervently called for the restoration of normalcy fpr the victims and civilians who have been caught in the distressing circumstances.
The event also witnessed a symbolic walking rally that commenced from the Peace Palace and stretched to Lange Vijverberg signifying the participants' determination to champion peace on all available platforms.
In a message directed to the people of Manipur, the Federation assured of unwavering solidarity, even from afar.
The organisers expressed confidence that justice would ultimately prevail, leading to the return of lasting peace in the region.
