Imphal, May 30 2025:
The Government of India has reportedly assured that there will be no disturbance to the integrity of Manipur.
This was conveyed during a meeting between FOCS and officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) held at New Delhi on May 27, 2025 .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, FOCS consultative member Puyam Rakesh said that they raised five points during their meeting with MHA officials.
The FOCS delegates laid bare all the conspiracy and violence committed by Kuki-Zo to create a separate State out of Manipur.
During the early days of the Manipur crisis, the Kuki-Zo portrayed themselves as victims of violence and atrocity committed by Meiteis but it was a false and unfounded narrative, the FOCS team told the MHA officials.
The violence saw a major shift when Kuki-Zo militants used drones and missiles to target Meitei civilians.
"We made it clear that the Kuki-Zo militants using sophisticated weapons and targeting Meitei people repeatedly is an undeniable fact", Rakesh said.
Highlighting that several Meitei civilians are still missing without any trace, the FOCS delegates made it clear that the Kuki-Zo militants launched the aggression with a well thought out strategy and it would be grossly wrong to see them as victims.
It is also wrong on the part of the Government of India to see the crisis as a part of a long, historical tradition of the State, the FOCS delegates told the MHA officials.
Asserting that the IDPs have been yearning to go back home, the FOCS team presented a strong case on the need to bring an end to the crisis at the earliest.
People of all the communities have been suffering extreme misery on account of the protracted crisis, they told the MHA officials.
"With facts and figures, we presented a detailed account dismissing all the false narratives propagated by Kuki-Zo regarding the crisis", Rakesh said.
"We also urged the MHA officials to act on the five points raised by FOCS", he said.
Asking whether the boundary of Manipur is limited to Gwaltabi, the FOCS delegates urged the MHA officials to take up punitive action against all those responsible for the outrageous Gwaltabi incident.
FOCS acting president BM Yaima Shah, FOCS spokesman Ng Jemson and representatives of different organisations associated with FOCS were also present at the press meet.
