Kuki miscreants trying to set house on fire caught on CCTV

Senapati, April 26 2026:
Suspected Kuki miscreants were caught on CCTV footage pouring diesel on house walls at Daili village, Kangpokpi district last night.
Reportedly, some unidentified Kuki individuals arrived in a Mahindra Bolero bearing Nagaland registration number and halted at the village along the National Highway on April 24 at around 10 pm .
The individuals were then seen pouring diesel on the walls of a house located adjacent to the highway in a deliberate attempt to set the property ablaze.
It is reported that three suspects involved in the attack have been arrested.
The Village Council of Daili village, in a statement, stated that some unidentified Kuki individuals arrived in a Mahindra Bolero and halted along the National Highway at Daili village.
Disturbingly, CCTV footage has captured these individuals pouring diesel on the walls of a house located adjacent to the highway, in a clear and deliberate attempt to set the property ablaze.
Condemning the reprehensible and criminal act, it stated that the brazen act was not only a direct attack on private property but also a calculated attempt to disrupt and vitiate the longstanding peaceful and harmonious atmosphere at the village.
Daili village has always stood as a symbol of unity and coexistence, exemplified by institutions such as St Francis De Sales Higher Secondary School, which serves students of all ethnicities, and the local Church, which welcomes and houses members from all communities without discrimination, it said.
The Bolero involved in the crime bears Nagaland registration number, it said.
Mao Council (MC) and Mao Students Union (MSU) have also condemned the incident while CoTU informed that the culprits have been identified.
They called upon the authorities concerned to take immediate and stringent action to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous act.
MC and MSU further urged the administration to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of all residents and to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.
