Recovery surpasses fresh infection

Imphal, August 19 2022: Recovery during the last 24 hours surpassed new COVID-19 cases in the State today as 11 new positive cases were reported against 12 recoveries.

No covid related fatalities were reported during the period.

The 11 cases were reported from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (4), Ukhrul (1) and Churachandpur (4) .

The cumulative number of positive cases in the State has reached 1,39,586 .

As 12 individuals were discharged from home isolation (8) and Shija Hospitals (4), the State currently has 111 active cases including 4 CAPF personnel.

The recovery rate is now 98.38 percent.

2204 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered on August 18.With these the State has administered a total of 31,52,498 doses of covid vaccines including 16,24,594 first doses, 12,96,352 second doses and 2,31,552 precautionary doses.

The State, till yesterday, has vaccinated 62.28 per cent of the eligible population with first doses and 54.26 percent with second doses.

Kakching (78.57 percent), Imphal West (78.10) and Imphal East (76.65 percent) are the top performing districts in terms of vaccinating eligible population with first doses while Kangpokpi (22.97 percent) still remains at the bottom of the chart.
