NPP MLAs' case hearing today

The next hearing of the disqualification cases filed against five NPP MLAs namely; Mayanglambam Rameshwar (Kakching AC), Thongam Shanti (Moirang AC), Janghemlung Panmei (Tamenglong AC), Irengbam Nalini (Oinam AC) and Khuraijam Loken (Wangoi AC) have been rescheduled on February 8 together with another disqualification case filed against JD(U) MLA Abdul Nasir (Lilong AC) .
Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretary K Meghajit today issued a fresh cause list whereby the disqualification cases of the five NPP MLAs and that of Abdul Nasir have been rescheduled tomorrow.

MPCC vice president Hareshwar Goswami is the petitioner of the disqualification cases filed against M Rameshwar, Th Shanti, Janghemlung Panmei and I Nalini.
Disqualification case no 5 was filed by one Sapam Shamungou against Khuraijam Loken while disqualification case no 6 was filed by one Thokchom Sur Singh against JD(U) Abdul Nasir.
All the six disqualification cases have been listed for hearing tomorrow.
Although NPP is a partner of NDA, NPP National president Conrad Sangma made an official announcement that NPP has withdrawn support to the N Biren Government.
Notwithstanding Conrad Sangma's official announcement, five out of the seven NPP MLAs have been supporting the Biren Government.
Moreover, the five MLAs even submitted a missive to the Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker requesting the Speaker to let them sit on the Treasury bench during the Assembly session which commences on February 10.Earlier, the Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker's Tribunal issued a cause list whereby the disqualification cases of M Rameshwar, Th Shanti, Janghemlung Panmei and Irengbam Nalini were scheduled on February 12.But the tribunal has rescheduled the hearing tomorrow.
Along with the disqualification cases of M Rameshwar, Th Shanti, Janghemlung Panmei and Irengbam Nalini, the disqualification cases filed against NPP MLA Khuraijam Loken and JD(U) MLA Abdul Nasir would also be heard tomorrow at 11.30 am as per a cause list issued this evening.
