Indian Army organises multi-speciality medical camps for IDPs in Manipur

The Red Shield Division of Spear Corps of the Indian Army, successfully conducted a series of Integrated Multi-Specialty Medical Camps across Manipur from March 19 to 21, 2026, under Operation Sadbhavana, in collaboration with the Nasik Medical Practitioners Association.
Indian Army in a release said that the initiative aimed to address the urgent healthcare needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and local residents in various parts of the state.
On March 19, medical camps were held at Molphei Tompak and Leisang Football Ground, benefiting 870 individuals, including women, men and children, who received medical consultations, health screenings and essential medicines.
A Mega Medical Camp conducted on March 20 at Ningthoukhong and Moirang catered to 897 patients, including 71 dental cases, reflecting the wide range of services provided.
On March 21, medical camps at Sawombung and YKPI, benefited a total of 1,150 patients availing treatment and medical assistance.
During the camp, free medicines were distributed and also included humanitarian support, including the distribution of a wheelchair to a needy patient.
A dedicated team of specialist doctors covering disciplines such as gynaecology, dermatology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, cardiology and ophthalmology provided consultations, diagnostic support and follow-up guidance.
Services included routine checkups, specialised care, distribution of medicines and counselling for patients requiring further treatment.
The camps received an overwhelming response, particularly from IDPs, while community leaders appreciated the Army's continued efforts in improving healthcare access in remote and underserved areas.
The initiative reaffirms the Indian Army's commitment to humanitarian service and public welfare beyond its primary duties.
