Two UG cadres arrested, arms recovered

Imphal, April 03 2025: In a series of operations, security forces recovered arms and apprehended two cadres of different armed organisations on Wednesday.

According to a Manipur police control room statement, security forces recovered two Baofeng handheld sets and one bulletproof jacket with a plate during an operation in Mollum village and its adjoining areas under Churachandpur police station in Churachandpur district.

In another operation at Khangabok Loukol near M/s Sorojini Oil Pump under Thoubal PS in Thoubal district, security forces recovered a carbine, three magazines, and 50 rounds of 9mm live ammunition.

Security forces also apprehended an active member of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-PWG), identified as Khoirom Deepsea Devi alias Irunganbi (33) of Haobam Marak Lourembam Leikai under Singjamei PS in Imphal West district.

She was arrested from Thongju Part-II Leirak Macha under the same PS.

A mobile phone, two SIM cards, and ah Aadhaar card were seized from her possession.

On the same day, another arrest was made in Imphal East district.

An active cadre of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), namely Thounaojam Sachindra Singh alias Laba alias Alex (24) of Takhel Mamang Leikai under Lamlai PS, was rounded up from Sanjenbam Khullen near a waiting shed under Lamlai PS.

He was involved in extortion activities and intimidation in Imphal.

A mobile phone was seized from him, the statement informed.
