Imphal, February 20 2024:
Education minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh on Tuesday extended best wishes to students who would be appearing in the class XI and XII examinations 2024 conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE.
In his message, the education minister encouraged the students to stay focused and work hard.
"Remember that your hard work and dedication will pay off in the end, and you have the full support of the department of Education," he exhorted.
Commending the hard work and dedication of the teachers throughout the academic year, he expressed that the teachers' tireless efforts have helped prepare the students for the important milestone.
All Manipur Students' Guardian Organisation (AMSGO) also extended best wishes to the Class XI and XII examination candidates and urged them to appear the examination without fail regardless of the unrest situation in the state.
In a release, AMSGO noted that apart from many violence-affected students putting up in relief camps enduring serious hardships substantial number of students are volunteering to defend their villages from persistent attacks by Kuki militants on the ground that protecting the land is their primary responsibility.
While observing that examination conducting authority, CSOs, guardians/parents, student bodies, teachers and the public have a significant role to play in creating conducive environment for the examinees, the organisation, however, pointed out that similar to according importance to defending and protecting the land, education too is essential for the state to achieve the goal of overall progress.
The organisations also stated that during Israel and Palestine war in 2005, young Palestinians continued education even in underground hideouts.
As such, students proactively involved in upholding the territorial integrity of Manipur should not undermine the fact that materialisation of the objective for the peaceful and progressive state will be possible only when they educate themselves, the release stressed and appealed to all the students to appear in the examination despite facing inconveniences.
The organisation also emphasised that senior village volunteers advise the student volunteers to appear in the examination without fail.
