Imphal, July 03 2025:
After the Eastern Liangmai Chief/Chairman Association, Committee on Protection of Indigenous Peoples' Ancestral Land and Foothills Naga Coordination Committee cautioned authorities concerned against granting legitimacy to the demand for construction of a roadway connecting Kangpokpi and Churachandpur districts via Naga-inhabited areas, Inpui Naga Youth Organisation (INYO) too strongly rejected the so-called 'wish-list' of the Kuki community, particularly the proposed construction of the fictitious 'German Road' or 'Tiger Road'.
In a release, INYO said that these invented names and projects are a clear attempt to impose illegitimate claims over Naga ancestral territory.
"No such roads exist in our history or records, and any move to implement them will be considered a direct act of aggression.
The Inpui people will resist such intrusion with full determination," the release affirmed.
Urging Ministry of Home Affairs to act with urgency and impartiality, the organisation said that endorsing this 'wishlist' will worsen inter-community relations and risk serious unrest.
"No project must proceed without our free, prior, and informed consent," maintained the INYO.
It also reiterated the demand for immediate dismantling of all designated camps of suspension of operation (SoO) signatory Kuki militant groups nearby Naga-inhabited areas, reasoning that as these illegal camps threaten peace and security they must be removed without delay.
"The Inpui people are peace-loving, but we will defend their ancestral land, rights, and identity by all legitimate means," the release remarked.
