Assam Rifles conducts medical, dental camps

With the stated objective to promote health and well-being among the internally displaced persons and nearby villagers, Assam Rifles conducted series of medical and dental camps over the past week across the state.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the camps offered crucial medical assistance to individuals suffering from ailments such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, abdominal pain, upper respiratory tract infections (URTI) and fever.
Essential medications were also distributed and bedridden patients received essential medical equipment, including lumbar belts, knee caps and rehabilitation materials.
At Dorcas Veng in Churachandpur district, medical check-ups and medications were facilitated by health experts from Assam Rifles, including a dentist, along with paramedical staff.
Volunteers from the Dorcas Veng Village Authority and the local youth also provided crucial paramedical and logistical support, ensuring the camp's success.
A total of 672 residents, including 248 females and 285 children, benefitted from this initiative, with 96 patients receiving specialised dental care, the PRO informed.
Further, at Kwatha village in Tengnoupal district, in collaboration with health professionals from the National Legal Service Authority, the medical team of Assam Rifles provided free medical counselling and treatment to the local population, benefitting total of 64 villagers, including five children.
Similarly, a medical camp was organised by Assam Rifles in coordination with medical professionals of CHC, Singhat at Singhat village in Churachandpur district during which a total of 160 people including 70 females and children received medical assistance, the PRO informed.
