Assam Rifles organises medical camps in remote Manipur villages

Assam Rifles continued its efforts to betterment of health and welfare of civilians by organising comprehensive medical camps on January 21, 2026, across remote villages of Manipur, reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian assistance and civic action in border areas.
According to IGAR (South), the medical camp held at Phaikoh village, Kamjong district, benefitted over 100 residents including men, women, children and elderly persons.
A dedicated medical team provided with free consultations, basic health screening, preliminary diagnostic evaluation and distributed essential medicines to address common ailments.
Interactive counselling sessions were also held on personal hygiene, balanced nutrition, prevention of seasonal diseases and lifestyle-related health concerns.
The initiative proved particularly valuable for vulnerable groups who face challenges in accessing regular healthcare due to terrain and limited infrastructure.
On the same day, medical camps were conducted under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme (AR CAP) at L Thinganphai and Aishi villages in Chakpikarong Sub-Division, Chandel District.
A team of medical officers, nursing staff and paramedics carried out comprehensive health check-ups and consultations, providing medicines and preventive healthcare guidance.
Around 256 villagers, including 120 males, 86 females and 50 children, availed medical services.
Special emphasis was placed on children, elderly persons and women, addressing seasonal illnesses, nutritional deficiencies and general health concerns.
The villagers expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for bringing healthcare to their doorstep.
These initiatives highlighted the role of Assam Rifles in fostering community cooperation and improving access to healthcare in underserved regions of Manipur.
