Cong lauds SC Judges' visit to state, calls for support

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has lauded the decision taken for a five-member delegation of Supreme Court Judges to visit various relief camps in the state and assess the situations of IDPs so as to enhance legal and humanitarian support.
In a press meet held at Congress Bhawan here on Thursday, MPCC president K Meghachandra appealed to all concerned for making the visit by the Supreme Court judges a success.
He urged the judges to visit the relief camps of all communities for first-hand account of the situation and conditions of the IDPs, who have been affected by the nearly two-year long conflict.

He expressed hope that the visit would help restore peace, while urging the judges to suggest to the government to expedite the process, if any, for return of the IDPs to their ancestral homes and initiation of dialogue between the communities in conflict.
He also appealed to all to support the decision and the upcoming visit of the Supreme Court judges.
Responding to questions from media persons, Meghachandra said that the Supreme Court is the highest body which can deliver justice to the people.
Anyone banning their visit would be their own lost.
Both the hill and the valley are demanding justice, he said, while stating that it would be best to keep aside all differences and work together to support the move to ensure peace and justice.
Meanwhile, informing that state Congress leaders would be attend ing the meeting of the party in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on April 8, Meghachandra said that following an earlier announcement by AICC that 2025 would be the year of organisation of Congress Party across the country, All India Congress Committee president Malikarjun Kharge would be holding the first phase of meetings with district party presidents of 16 state and union territories at Indira Bhavan, New Delhi on March 27.Fourteen presidents of District Congress Committees from Manipur would also be attending the meeting to be held in the presence of the AICC president and AICC Manipur in-charge, he said, while adding that preparations are being made at the state level to attend the meetings.
He further informed that starting from April 8, AICC would hold meetings in Ahmedabad.
On the first day, a meeting of extended CWC members would be held, followed by meetings of presidents of all states and UTs, CLP leaders and Congress CMs.
On April 9, a session for AICC members including members and co-opted members from Manipur, would be held, he added.
Mentioning the continuous reorganisation processes from booth level to block, district, frontal, cell and state office bearers, he said that the process would continue till January 26 next year and sought the full support of all concerned in this regard.
