Four rescued wild animals released back into natural habitat

Thoubal, November 16 2025:
Four different wild animal species rescued from various locations by the People for Animals (PAF) Manipur and Thoubal ForestDivision, were released back into their natural habitat today by forest officials and PFA members.
The released animals include a Bengal Slow Loris (Young Ekaithibi), a small Indian Civet Cat (Moirangsathibi), an Asian Barred Owlet, and a Monocled Cobra (Kharou).
According to PFA, the small Indian Civet Cat was rescued by L Machanthoi of Yairipok Kekru Mathak, after it entered their residence, while the Bengal Slow Loris was rescued from the residence of Kh Lokendra Singh of Heirok Pt 3 Ingalok, before being handed over to PFA and forest officials.
The Asian Barred Owlet was rescued by Y Rojen of Kiyam Siphai after it entered his house.
It was subsequently handed over to PFA members for safe care.
The Monocled Cobra, which had been under PFA shelter, along with the other three rescued animals, was released safely in the presence of forest officials and PFA volunteers, under the supervision of DFO Dr L Jeeceelee.
