Moirang, April 10 2026:
Former rebel leader Ningthemcha Meghen, also known as Sanayaima, has expressed serious concern and suspicion surrounding the recent tragic incidental Tronglaobi, stating that conflicting claims and the sequence of events have raised unanswered questions.
Speaking during a condolence visit to the bereaved family, Meghen, who currently serves as advisor to the Peace Committee Kangleipak, Manipur, noted that both the Kuki militant outfit UKLA and the Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF) have denied involvement in the attack.

He pointed out that the sudden arrival of Central Forces' Casper vehicles shortly after the incident, even as local residents and family members were attempting to contact the police, has deepened suspicion regarding the circumstances of the tragedy.
The Peace Committee team had visited the residence of the victims to offer condolences following the death of two innocent children in the incident.
They also extended assistance to Laishram Ongbi Ashalata, wife of late Laishram Jiten of Waikhurok, Torbung GP Ward No 6, who was reportedly killed in alleged indiscriminate firing by personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) .
Meghen remarked that at a time when the government has been asserting that there are no longer "red zones" in the state, except for certain sensitive areas, the denial of responsibility by Kuki groups has further complicated the situation.
He suggested that the possibility of unidentified elements attempting to escalate violence in the region cannot be ruled out.
Calling for preventive measures, Meghen stressed the need for heightened vigilance among the public.
He further suggested the revival of village volunteer systems, even without arms, to ensure community safety and preparedness against unforeseen incidents.
Following the visit to the incident site at Tronglaobi, the Peace Committee delegation proceeded to the Moirang College Relief Camp (Block B), where Meghen met the family members of the late Laishram Jiten and handed over monetary assistance to his wife.
The visit was accompanied by Peace Committee Kangleipak, Manipur president Kh Rajesh Meitei, along with other members of the committee and representatives of the Moirang Thamnapokpi Nupi Yaifa Marup.
