Relief reaches Kamjong: EKAL stands with attack-hit villages

Villages in Kamjong district hit by the May 7 attack by suspected Myanmar-based armed groups received relief supplies on Wednesday from valley-based organisation Eramdam Kanba Lup (EKAL), Uyumpok, Imphal East.
The EKAL team, comprising 16 constituent units including Wakhong, Uyumpok Maring Leikai, Uyumpok Terepur, Uyumpok Mamang Leikai, Nongsum, Lamboikhun, Taretkhun, Keibi Awang Leikai, Keibi Mayai Leikai, Keibi Salam, Keibi Bot Makhong, Keibi Heikak Mapal Makha Leikai, Keibi Heikak Mapal Awang Leikai, Tiger Camp, Chanung, and Keibi Kumuda, was received by the Khamlang village authority and the Kasom Khullen Sub-Division Students' Union at Khamlang village, Kasom Khullen Block.

The aid was handed over for onward distribution to affected residents of Namlee, Wanglee, and Z Choro.
Essential items including rice, cooking oil, drinking water, and dal were provided to families rebuilding after the violence that left homes destroyed, vehicles damaged, and property looted.
EKAL advisor Wangkheirakpam Ngouba said the effort was a gesture of solidarity with the Tangkhul Nagas against "Kuki Narco Terrorists", adding that similar support was earlier extended in Litan.
He expressed hope that the Nagas would assist the Meiteis when needed.
IKAL Ima Lup convenor Heikrujam Malemkhombi said EKAL, formed during the Khamenlok conflict, aims to share the suffering of affected communities.
She condemned the recent abduction of Naga hostages and called for their immediate release, while urging hill and valley communities to work together to save Manipur.
Village elder Rev Prangthoching Ningshen expressed gratitude for the timely humanitarian aid to Wanglee, Namlee, and other border areas during this period of hardship.
