Manipuri Cultural Dance Training, Mime Festival kicks off

A 3-Day Mime Festival organised by Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata, Ministry of Cultural, Govemment of India, kicked off oh Friday at the hall of Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory in Langthabal Kunja, Imphal.
The festival was organised in collaboration with Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory, Manipur and the Department of Art & Culture, Manipur.
The inaugural function was graced by M Joy Singh, Commissioner, Art & Culture, Manipur; and Budha Chingtham, Member, Board of Governors, Eastern Zonal Cultural Council (EZCC), Kolkata as presidium members.
On the first day, artists of The Umbilical Theatre presented "Room No 407" and Raag Tarang Mandal, Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal performed "Guru : Importance of Success" .
Meanwhile, the Dance Drama Music Repertoire Union, Manipur under the sponsorship of Sangeet Natak Akademi.
New Delhi organised an "Inaugural Function of 30 Days Advance Training Course of Manipuri Classical Dance & One Day Festival" at its premises in Uripok Kangchup Road, Iroishemba Mamang Leikai today.
The inaugural function was graced by dignitaries, including G Dharmadas Sharma, Deputy Director, Art & Culture, Manipur and Sanjenbam Merjao, Chairman, Pari Imom Shindamshang.
The training course's director Ranjit Adhikarimayum and assistant director Moirangthem Sangeetabali Devi were also present at the event.
