Imphal, March 20 2025: A One Day Farmers' Awareness Programme on "Scientific Methods of Lac Cultivation for Additional Farmers' Income" was held today at the conference hall of College of Agriculture (COA), Iroisemba.

The programme was organised by AINP-Conservation of Lac Insect Genetic Resources, COA, Iroisemba, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.

It was graced by Prof Indira Sarangthem, Dean, COA, Iroisemba and DI, CAU, Imphal; Dr KI Singh, PI of the Project, COA, Iroisemba; and Dr K Mamocha Singh, HOD (Entomology), COA, Iroisemba as presidium members.

During the event, the dignitaries appealed to the fanners community in the State to conserve the lac insects and earn additional incomes through lac farming.

They also highlighted that farmers could earn a huge profit by adopting the scientific methods of Lac cultivation as it requires only a minimal effort and cost.
