Imphal, April 07 2025:
All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) president Nando Luwang on Monday claimed that during the recent peace talks held in New Delhi, the joint delegation of AMUCO and Federation of Civil Societies (FOCS) Kangleipak told the Kuki delegation to stop playing the victim card.
Speaking at a press conference held at Loktak Hall, Manipur Press Club, Nando informed that the delegation attended the April 5 talks initiated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) with a sincere motive to find a solution to the ongoing ethnic crisis.

However, the sincerity of the Kuki-Zo CSOs was questionable, he said, citing three preconditions they adopted during a meeting in Kangpokpi ahead of the talks, which appeared to be aimed at provoking the Meetei community and deterring Meetei CSOs from attending.
Nando said that AMUCO and FOCS chose to participate to ensure that the Meetei community's perspective was also heard by MHA officials, thereby disrupting the planned narrative of the Kuki-Zo CSOs.
According to the AMUCO chief, the Kuki-Zo delegation was allowed to speak first and used the opportunity to express grievances and blame the Meetei community.
The joint delegation of AMUCO and FOCS then intervened and told them to stop playing victim cards and countered their claims, he iterated.
The MHA proposed a six point resolution during the meeting, which was agreed upon by AMUCO and FOCS but not accepted by the Kuki-Zo delegation, who stated they needed to consult the public first.
The resolutions included appeals for restraint from violence, cooperation in depositing arms, easing highway obstructions, facilitating the return of displaced persons, prioritising development in affected areas, and resolving long-term issues through dialogue with the Centre.
Chipping in, FOCS president in-charge BM Yaima said the meeting provided a vital platform to present views of all the communities.
AMUCO and FOCS also urged the MHA to take legal action if the resolutions are not honoured by the other side, he disclosed.
