Many revolutionary organisations of WESEA have been fighting against the Government of India for the last 70 years with the goal of liberating the region from the alleged Indian occupation.
But today there are many among the people as well as revolutionaries who have been disillusioned, Oken remarked.
If the people are thinking that the revolutionaries would save them from the jaws of death, without bothering to join the revolutionary movement, it is unarguably wrong, he said.
Joining the revolutionary movement does not necessarily mean all should go underground but the people can resist the alien rule through non-violent means.
People must resist the 'disguised tyranny' of India, he said.
There are two types of resistance - active and passive.
Active resistance means waging armed struggle and resisting the alien rule with violent means.
Passive resistance is defined in the forms of strikes, mass protest, boycott, picketing, blockade etc which are non-violent, read the KYKL Chairman's statement.
It said that active resistance and passive resistance must go parallel to each other.
The anti-apartheid movement in South Africa as well as the Indian freedom movement encompassed both active resistance and passive resistance.
When active resistance and passive resistance go hand in hand, people's understanding of the issue and participation in the passive resistance will grow day by day, it said.
It will also make revolutionaries more thoughtful and morally upright.
It will also prevent revolutionaries from forcing their will upon civilians, and bring revolutionaries and masses closer.
The KYKL Chairman asserted that local officers and Ministers should refrain from anticipatory obedience to New Delhi.
All professionals including medical doctors, lawyers, engineers, journalists and professors should abide by their respective professional ethics and never go against ethics in the name of 'just following orders'.
If any of their works would benefit the public, Government employees should work twice as hard.
Teachers should work twice the amount of work prescribed by the Government, it said.
The KYKL Chairman stated that there is a growing need to build up several forms of passive resistance including 'political resistance' and 'everyday resistance'.
"In addition to resisting the alleged colonial rule, we must also resist our own weaknesses; it may be political and social resistance or everyday individual resistance", Oken said.
"We must resist poverty and culture of poverty, wrong economic policy, dependence complex, inferiority complex, character degeneration, social disorganisation and anomie, corruption, degradation of education system, drug abuse, neglecting politics, ecocide, non-governance and magical and mythical thinking', the KYKL Chairman concluded.
