NPCB&VI holds awareness rally in Tamenglong on Glaucoma

Tamenglong, March 20 2025: In connection with World Glaucoma Week, 2025, National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI), Tamenglong under the aegis of District Health Society, Tamenglong organised an mass awareness rally on the theme "No to Glaucoma, Yes to Life, The World is Bright Save Your Sight" at Tamenglong district headquarter on March 17 .

Speaking in this connection, NPCB Tamenglong, District Nodal Officer, Dr Rangla stated that Glaucoma is important to understand and address because it's a leading cause of irreversible blindness, often developing without noticeable symptoms, making early detection and treatment crucial.

As part of the programme, around 920 individuals were screened for Glaucoma and given free consultation.
