Deaf and Mute School, Takyel celebrates golden jubilee

Imphal, March 24 2025: Deaf and Mute School (DMS), Takyel celebrated its golden jubilee at the premises of the school today.

Notable highlights of the celebration include launching of "Lonphao" app and "Insights App" for the visually impaired by Akumen Artificial Intelligence Pvt Ltd.

Additionally, the BNS, BNSS Act 2023 was also published in braille to mark 50 years since the establishment of DMS .

The ceremony witnessed the attendance of Ngangom Uttam, Director, IPR and MAHUD as the chief guest; Anjali Chongtham, Director, Social Welfare as the functional president and Jiteshwar Keisham, Joint' Director, Social Welfare and Dr Wahengbam Ibochaoba, Shija Hospital as guests of honour., Students of DMS and Ideal Blind School, Takyel kicked off the celebration with an opening song.

Prizes were distributed to students who successfully cleared the Class X exam.

Additionally, DMS students showcased other performances including Thang-Ta, mime play and traditional fashion show.
