SBI concludes Pan-India CSR Tree Plantation Campaign, bicycles donated to girl students

Imphal, September 09 2025:
State Bank of India (SBI), under its PanIndia Uniform CSR Initiative, successfully concluded a large-scale Tree Plantation Campaign and Cycle Donation to needy girl students in Manipur today.
As per a release issued by SBI Regional Business Office Imphal, the valedictory event held at Manipur University (MU) Campus, Imphal was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Finance Officer, Controller of Examinations, Principal of Manipur Institute of Technology, faculty members, and more than 100 students.
From August 31 to September 9, 2025, SBI conducted plantation drives across Manipur, led by RBO Imphal West (including its branches, AMCCS, RSETIs and Mini RACPC) and RBO Imphal East (including its branches, AMCC and RSETI) .
In total, 7,000 tree saplings were planted.
Alongside the large drives, SBI branches across the State also planted trees at their respective centres, reinforcing their long-term commitment to environmental sustainability.
Key plantation drives were organised in association with Nature Club, Haoreibi (Imphal West); ADAM, Kakching (Imphal East), Manipur University and anipur Institute of Technology (MU Campus).
Over 200 volunteers, including SBI staff and students, participated in the tree plantation drives.
Cycle Donation Initiative
As part of the same CSR initiative, SBI also donated bicycles to 40 needy girl students from five Government schools of Manipur, identified and recommended by their respective school authorities as deserving beneficiaries.
The cycle distribution programme was conducted today at MU campus, Imphal.
Prabhas Bose, Chief General Manager, SBI, Guwahati Circle, handed over the bicycles in the presence of Prof N Lokendra, along with senior SBI officials and the Registrar, Finance Officer, Controller of Examinations of MU, and Principal MIT, Manipur.
32 bicycles were distributed at MU Campus during this event.
8 bicycles will be handed over to needy girl students in Churachandpur shortly.
The initiative supports the Government of India's Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, promoting access to education and empowerment of girl students.
