Imphal, March 24 2025: The 134th death anniversary of Pukhramba Tangko was observed today at Kangmong Langoljam Mayai Leikai Tourak Community Hall.

According to a press release issued by M Joykumar Luwang, general secretary, Pukhramba Tangko Memorial Trust, the brave Manipuri soldier who hailed from Kangmong laid down his life fighting against the British in the Anglo-Manipur War 1891 on March 24, 1891.Elders of the area and members of Pukhramba Tangko Memorial Trust offered floral tributes on the memorial stone of Pukhrambam Tanko located at the Pukhrambam homestead.

Maisnam Joykumar, general secretary, Pukhramba Tangko Memorial Trust; M Sakhi, president, All Manipur Nupi Marup and Thokchom Inakhunbi, woman leader from Langoljam Leikai also paid floral tributes at the memorial site.

As a part of the event, a book on the life of Sanamacha Heram, a member of the Trust, was also released.
