BJP Chandel lambasts Cong Govt

Chandel, December 08 2013 : BJP Chandel Manipur has criticized the ruling Congress led Government for allegedly keeping the district head quarters of Chandel undeveloped even after coming into power for more than 10 years. According to a statement BJP Chandel district signed by its Working President Tongsin Willingson, the rule of the Congress led Government in Manipur is nothing but a 'breeder of corruption' and termed it as a totally failed government.

The people of Chandel in particular have become the most affected victim as far as lack of various infrastructures is concern, Tongsin said.

While blaming the Congress led government for the deplorable condition of the district road, the BJP statement pointed out that the Government of Manipur took the administrative approval of Rs 24,22,00,000 for improvement of road from Pallel to Chandel in the year 2005.In that same year Rs 15 Crores and Rupees Two Crores Forty Nine Lakhs and Ninety �two Thousand were respectively sanctioned and released by the Principal Secretary AE Ahmad of Works Department, Govt.of Manipur entrusting the Executive Engineer of PWD, Chandel Division for development of road between Pallel to Chandel and the road stretch between Chandel to Chakpikarong respectively.

In response to the letter No.2070/P-C-S-C/29/E2 dated 30th June 2010, submitted by OC 82nd Road Construction Coy (GREF), BRTF, Imphal, PWD Chandel Division wrote a letter No.EE/CDL/HO/2010-255 dated 12th July 2010, vide No.EE/CDL/HO/2010, advising the BRTF to complete the road works.

But there has been no improvement in the condition of the road till date, causing lot of suffering to the people, the statement lamented.

The statement further charged Works Minister Ratankumar with making a false promise to the people of the district when he said that the Govt.will finish repairing of the road and inaugurate the Mini secretariat of the district by mid November.

Recalling about the protest rally it had launched earlier, the Chandel BJP unit also announced that it would organise a protest rally soon in association with the people if the Government does not take up necessary measures for reparing the Pallel-Chandel road at the earliest possible.
