Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun marks 75 years with Platinum Jubilee celebrations

The Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK) on Tuesday celebrated 75 years of its existence and achievements with a grand Platinum Jubilee at the Lamkang Secretariat Complex in Chandel district.
The milestone celebration was held under the theme "Recollect, Reconnect, Reorient," reflecting on the organisation's journey while charting a path for the future.
The jubilee programme recalled the formative years of LKK since its establishment in 1950, highlighting decades of struggle, service and achievements under successive leaderships.
The occasion also served as a moment of thanksgiving, acknowledging divine blessings and the collective efforts that have sustained the organisation over the years.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, SS Olish Lamkang, MLA of 41-Chandel (ST) Assembly Constituency, congratulated the Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun on completing 75 years.
She lauded the dedication of the founders and former leaders, noting that the organisation's longevity was a testament to their tireless work and commitment.
Calling upon the present leadership and members, the MLA urged them to take the student body to greater heights.
She also unveiled the Jubilee monolith as part of the celebrations.
Sarangthem Asana, IPS, Commandant, 2nd Battalion, Manipur Rifles, Imphal, attended as guest of honour, while Chongtham Bishwachandra Singh, Chief Engineer, PWD Manipur, graced the event as functional president.
Both dignitaries congratulated LKK and extended their best wishes for its future endeavours.
Earlier, the Chief Engineer released jubilee balloons, while the Commandant released the jubilee souvenir.
Delivering the presidential address, LKK president Johny Dilbung expressed gratitude to all well-wishers and participants, and paid tribute to past executive members for their contributions in shaping the organisation.
He reiterated LKK's commitment to unity, progress and service to the Lamkang community.
NSF president Mteisuding Heraang, in his solidarity speech, emphasised the need for unity among the Naga people to achieve their collective aspirations.
Lamenting divisions caused by factions and borders, he stressed that it was time for the Nagas to come together in unity, terming it vital for realising their long-cherished goals.
He also remarked that the jubilee theme aptly reflected the present need to reflect, reconnect and realign.
The jubilee celebrations were blessed by Rev Fr Dr Avince Anthony Dilbung, Parish Priest of St Peter's Parish, Chandel.
The jubilee flag was hoisted by Robinsing Tholung, son of late Th Bedok, the founding president of LKK.
The programme featured colourful cultural performances, including traditional dances by the Khorpi Dance Troupe, folk songs by artistes from Leingangching village, and special musical renditions by Damhring Tholung and Darshel Khular.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Bungkham Sankhil, general secretary of LKK, followed by the de-hoisting of the jubilee flag by former LKK president Sunny Sankhil.
