Senapati, May 25 2026:
Amid the prevailing tense situation in Manipur, the President of the Tenyimi Peoples' Organization (TPO) along with his team visited Senapati district and held interactions with tribe Hohos under the Naga Peoples' Organization (NPO) .
The Tenyimi people constitute a major ethnolinguistic and cultural bloc among the Naga communities, comprising ten fraternal tribes spread across Nagaland, Manipur and Assam.
Speaking during the visit, TPO President Timikha Koza expressed concern over the prevailing situation in Manipur and appealed for peace and coexistence among communities.
He stated that although various reports and information regarding the situation in Manipur have been circulating through different media platforms, the actual ground reality remains unclear.
Referring to reports that some members of the Tenyimi community had been affected by the violence, including six persons who are reportedly still untraceable and several others injured, the TPO President said the delegation visited Senapati to understand the concerns and situation of the Nagas in Manipur.
Expressing displeasure over divisive statements such as "wipe out all the Nagas or Kukis," Timikha Koza stressed the need for communities to learn how to live together peacefully.
When asked about his message to the Nagas and Kukis in Manipur, the TPO President appealed for peace, stating, "How long can we fight?" .
He further recommended dialogue and talks between the two communities to address their differences and work towards resolving the issues peacefully.
