The Jal Jeevan Mission-New Development Bank, Joint Action Committee (JJM-NDB JAC) has threatened to impose an indefinite economic blockade along NH-37 in Tamenglong from 6 am of December 27 onwards if pending bills owed to the workers are not paid by December 26 .
Speaking to media persons, Angam Kamei, JAC convenor, stated that earlier the JAC had temporarily suspended the economic blockade after receiving assurance from the concerned Minister and agency that the pending bills for workers engaged with the JJM project under Tousem Sub-Division will be cleared by December 20 .
However, as the assurances have not borne any positive results, the JAC convened a meeting and resolved to impose indefinite economic blockade along NH-37.This move is also endorsed by Noney and Tamenglong JACs, he said.
Members of the JJM-NDB JAC were also present at the press briefing.
