Tengnoupal, July 16 2026:
The Office of the District Election Officer (DEO), Tengnoupal, has launched GUIDE: SIR Tengnoupal, an initiative aimed at providing proactive assistance to voters during the Claims and Objections as well as the Notice and Hearing phases of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the electoral rolls.
The initiative seeks to ensure that every eligible voter is informed, assisted and able to present his or her case before the competent election authority.
As part of the programme, a district-wide awareness campaign will be carried out through various government touchpoints, including Revenue and Block staff, election officials and Booth Level Officers (BLOs), ASHA and Anganwadi workers, schools, hospitals and other field functionaries.
Awareness activities will be conducted village-wise in accordance with the hearing schedule.
BLOs have been directed to explain every notice in simple language, contact voters after serving the notice and remind them a day before their scheduled hearing.
To enhance public outreach, churches across the district will also be requested to disseminate neutral awareness messages and remind voters of their hearing dates following Sunday prayers.
Meanwhile, a District Task Force for Documents has been constituted with officials from the Education, Health, Revenue, CAF&PD, NIC and other relevant departments to facilitate the verification, retrieval and reissuance of essential documents wherever required and legally permissible.
The Task Force will provide priority assistance to genuine voters to ensure that documentation issues do not hinder the submission of their claims.
Under the initiative, voters requiring assistance may contact the designated helpline numbers, following which the GUIDE: SIR Tengnoupal team will coordinate with the concerned departments and stakeholders to help them complete the necessary formalities before their scheduled hearings.
The initiative aims to ensure that no eligible voter with a legitimate claim is excluded from the final electoral roll due to lack of awareness, documentation or procedural difficulties, while reaffirming that all decisions will continue to be taken impartially by the competent election authorities in accordance with the law.
