Licypriya Foundation launches Hi-Tech Information Centre at Samaram

In a landmark initiative to strengthen healthcare access for the underprivileged, the Licypriya's Foundation, in collaboration with Hi-Tech Group of Institutions India and Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital, Bhubaneshwar, inaugurated a healthcare clinic named "HiTech Information Centre, Manipur" at Samaram in Thoubal district today.
The newly inaugurated centre aims to provide round-the-clock free healthcare services to the people of Manipur, particularly targeting those living below the poverty line and belonging to backward classes.
The special launch event also marked the beginning of a two-day Special Mega Health Camp, where hundreds of people received free consultations, check-ups, and treatments.

The event was attended by Khangabok AC MLA, Sutjakumar Okram; Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital Bhubaneswar, and Hi-Tech Group of Institutions India chairman, Dr Tirupati Panigrahi; Government of Odisha, Honble MLA, Engineer Rupesh Panigrahi; Hi-Tech Medical College & Hospital, Rourkela Director Dr Rakesh Panigrahi; Manipur University former Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor K Yugindro Singh; Indian Red Cross Society Thoubal Branch chairman K Sadananda; UN Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization, Youth member Moksha Panigrahi and Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste Special Envoy, Licypriya Kangujam as presidium members.
Delivering the keynote address, KK Singh, Director of Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital Bhubaneswar, said the clinic was established in response to the growing commercialization of healthcare.
"This centre will provide round-the-clock healthcare services to poor families of Manipur without charging any money, while also offering timely information related to healthcare updates," he said.
Expressing gratitude for the massive turnout, Singh announced that such health camps would continue in the future.
He stated that on the opening day alone, more than 2,000 people benefitted from the health camp, with 200 individuals living below the poverty line being identified for further diagnosis and surgeries outside the state, that would be borne by the foundation.
Singh further revealed that the foundation has been supporting educational expenses of 60 underprivileged students, including some from relief camps to pursue their careers in medical line.
He pledged that the foundation would continue its effort to ensure free education for students who cannot afford for their further studies.
The ongoing Mega Health Camp, featuring 13 super-specialists from outside Manipur and offering 32 types of free tests, is expected to benefit over 10,000 people, with more than 3,000 already registered.
As part of the event, Thokchom Sharatchandra who plays a key role in processing Ayushman Bharat Health Card for people, and journalist Aruna Sapam were honoured for their contributions.
