Moirang, April 17 2026:
A sit-in protest was staged today at Kumbi Keithel expressing strong condemnation of the bomb attack at Tronglaobi that claimed the lives of a toddler and a five-year-old boy.
The demonstration was held under the banner of COCOMI with the theme, "Narendra Modi, is this your Viksit Bharat? Where is your humanity?" The protest was organised by members of the Wapokpi Apunba Meira Paibi Lup along with women from Kumbi and nearby areas.
Protesters displayed placards bearing slogans such as "Go Back Central Forces", "Stop Government of India's policy to annihilate indigenous communities of Manipur", "Narendra Modi Down Down", "Amit Shah Down Down", and demands for punishment of those responsible for the killing of children and civilians, including alleged involvement of security personnel.

Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Meira Paibi activist Keisham Tampakleima questioned the continued silence of both the State and Central Governments over the incident.
She said the grief of mothers who have lost their children is unbearable and asserted that they would no longer remain silent.
Karam Premija, vice-president of the Wapokpi Mahila Mandal, alleged that the government has failed to respond to the pain and suffering of the people despite being in power.
She urged the Chief Minister and the State Home Minister to step down, holding them accountable for the prevailing situation.
Meanwhile, as the Tronglaobi incident completed 11 days, the public of Bishnupur have expressed disappointment over the governments' failure to fulfil the demands raised by the public and the Joint Action Committee (JAC), stating that such inaction has eroded public trust in the authorities.
The Meira Paibis and local residents, who have been enforcing blockades along Tiddim Road and the stretch between Wangoo and Moirang, warned that if their demands continue to be ignored, agitation in the form of road blockades and other protests will persist.
