Sagolband MLA inaugurates rain water harvesting system

A Rain Water Harvesting system was inaugurated today at the premises of S YPO Club, Sagolband Mabudhou Mantri Leikai, by Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh, in the presence of RK Jiten Singh, Corporator of Ward No 7, along with community leaders and local residents.
As part of the initiative, a water pump was also handed over to the club's president to enhance water accessibility for the community.
According to a release issued by the office of the MLA, a similar Rain Water Harvesting system was recently inaugurated at Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi, while another is set to be inaugurated soon at Kakhulong in Ward No 24, further promoting water conservation efforts in the region.
Addressing the gathering, RK Imo Singh said, "Where there is a will, there is a way".
Apart from developmental projects, he emphasized his commitment to social causes and reaffirmed that the MLA Ana Layengi Tengbang initiative continues even during the President's Rule, as it remains a personal effort to support the people.
He urged all the committee members to bring any concerns to his notice, assuring that assistance will be provided regardless of political affiliations.
Emphasizing the importance of accessible healthcare, the MLA underscored the need for free health camps, stating that while the UPHC Sagolband remains available, mobile health camps play a crucial role in reaching a larger section of the community.
He announced that another free health camp is scheduled to be held at Paona Bazar on March 9, as part of a series of camps initiated since 2022, aimed at delivering essential medical services and e-governance health solutions to people's doorsteps.
Furthermore, as part of his efforts to improve public utilities, the MLA announced that two Water ATMs are being installed at Sagolband Meino Leirak and Kwakeithel Leimakhujam Leikai Hall.
These Water ATMs will provide clean and mineral-rich drinking water, ensuring access to safe and healthy water for the residents.
He also announced the reconstruction of Sagolband Rishikul Upper Primary School into a G+l structure, ensuring better infrastructure for students.
The new structure will be designed to accommodate both educational and community welfare activities, providing a multi-purpose space for the local community.
The event concluded with a commitment to continued development and welfare initiatives for the people of Sagolband.
