Imphal, November 17 2023: The Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) strongly condemned the inaction of the State Government to complete the tender process for the 'rehabilitation and strengthening of Bishnupur-Nungba (Rengpang) road for the diversion of traffic due to the construction of NH-37 in the State' .

The information and publicity cell, ZSUM in a press release appealed to the Government to complete the tender process on an urgent basis and to take up measures for the commencement of the said work.

ZSUM went on to caution that it will be compelled to take up intense action if the aforementioned appeal is not actualised.

It may be noted that the union had demanded for the implementation of work however the Government has failed to take up positive measures.

ZSUM expressed dismay that the Government has been neglecting the long pending demand of the union thereby causing inconveniences to the people of the region.

The process of tender started as per the notification dated 18th August 2023 and should be completed within 12 months however no concrete measures have been taken up by the relevant authorities till date.
