Jan Kalyan Shivir begins across Manipur to ensure wider reach of welfare schemes

Three-day Public Welfare Camp 'Jan Kalyan Shivir' began across several districts of Manipur on Wednesday with the aim of ensuring effective outreach and saturation of various welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes ofthe Central and State Governments to all eligible citizens.
The camps, organised by respective district administrations, provide a common platform for citizens to avail fresh registrations under different welfare schemes, correction of errors in existing records, disposal of pending cases and grievances, and delivery of benefits under various government programmes.
BISHNUPUR
In Bishnupur district, the camp was inaugurated at the PRC Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, with more than 500 people participating.
Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam said that the initiative would help bridge the gap between government schemes and beneficiaries by bringing services closer to the people.
She informed that the campaign is being conducted from June 12 to 20 across the country to ensure effective outreach and saturation of welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes to every eligible citizen.
The DC further informed that similar camps would be held at Chingphu Ningthou Sembileima Haraobung, Ishok on June 19 and at Maibram Mandop near Ibudhou Thangjing Temple, Moirang on June 20.More than 20 departments including Health, Social Welfare, Fisheries, CAF & PD, MSPDCL, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandly.
District Child Protection Unit, Planning, Election and MSRLM participated in the camp by setting up service stalls.
Ayushman Cards and Ration Cards were also handed over to beneficiaries during the programme.
THOUBAL
The welfare camp was launched in Thoubal district at the Election Counting Hall, DC Complex.
Deputy Commissioner Yumnam Robita as part of the welfare camp also inaugurated a signature campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan organised by the District Administration and District Social Welfare Office.
The DC appealed to the public to support the campaign against drug abuse and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Various departments including Health, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Industries, PHED, MSPDCL and others provided services and information on government schemes.
CHANDEL
In Chandel, the Jan Kalyan Shivir was inaugurated at the Multipurpose Hall, Mini Secretariat, by Deputy Commissioner Hemant Kumar.
DC Hemant Kumar urged all departments to adopt a citizen-centric approach and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive government assistance.
The camp witnessed participation from over 15 departments, which provided services including enrolment under welfare schemes, distribution of pending benefits and registration of new beneficiaries.
KAKCHING
Kakching district began the three-day registration camp at the DC Office Complex.
Deputy Commissioner Angeline Renita R inspected the counters set up by various departments and reviewed the facilities provided to the public.
The camp facilitated enrolment under schemes including Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme, Chief Minister's Widow Pension Scheme, PM-KISAN, Kisan Credit Card, Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, CMHT, Startup Manipur Scheme and other citizen-oriented services.
CHURACHANDPUR
In Churachandpur district, the district-level inauguration was held at M Songgel Community Hall, Tuibong.
Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar inaugurated the programme and highlighted the importance of bringing multiple welfare schemes directly to citizens under one roof.
During the programme, assistance materials including beehive boxes, agricultural inputs, certificates and PMAY-G allotments were distributed to beneficiaries.
A free health camp was also organised as part of the event.
KANGPOKPI
The District Administration of Kangpokpi organised the outreach programme across nine sub-divisions at ten locations including Ramgailong, Nungsai Chiru, Sandangsenba Maring, Kalapahar, Saitu-Gamphazol office, Saikul SDO office, Molkon Bazar.
T Waichong, T Khullen and the DC Office.
The camps witnessed participation from local residents and officials of various
departments.
Besides awareness on eligibility and assistance in applications, beneficiaries were enrolled under schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, CMHT, PM-KISAN, Kisan Credit Card, PM Awas Yojana, PM Surya Ghar, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Startup Manipur, PM-Vishwakarma and PM-SVANidhi.
KAMJONG
In Kamjong district, the administration organised registration camps as part of the Jan Kalyan Shivir at Town Hall, Kamjong.
Deputy Commissioner LN Kashung inaugurated the programme, which will continue till June 19.Addressing the gathering, the DC highlighted the importance of the initiative in ensuring that welfare schemes reach every eligible citizen.
Around 28 departments set up help desks at the district headquarters, while similar camps were conducted at K Somrei village, Mapum village and Ramei village with participation from various departments.
The three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir will continue with the objective of promoting inclusive development and ensuring that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach every eligible citizen.
TENGNOUPAL
Tengnoupal district began the three-day public welfare campaign at the SDO Office, Machi.
Several departmental stalls were opened to provide services to the public.
During the camp, 16 applications of Manipur Old Age Pension scheme were processed, while 21 services were provided under the scheme.
Three services were also provided under the Widow Pension Scheme, besides assistance were also extended by the DCPU and Social Welfare Dept to 5 applicants.
