Imphal, January 09 2023: Asian International University observed Non-Resident Indian Day (Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas) today at its campus located at Ghari Awang Leikai.

Speaking as the chief guest, former MLA of Sagolband AC, Dr Khwairakpam Loken Singh brief on the history of observing Non-Resident Indian Day which is observed to honour the significant contributions made by NRIs towards the development of the country.

He also lauded the contributions of NRIs who are into different fields in foreign countries in enhancing the economy of the country.

The programme was also attended by Ghari Women Development Centre president Chungkham Geeta Devi; Ghari Youth Club president Phamdon Prama Mangancha; Pro Vice-Chancellor Asian international University Dr Mayank Kumar; Director of Research Dr Ashish Kumar Rai and Dean (Administration) Sanjay Banerjee as the presidium members.
