On September 14, the Kuki CSO Working Committee, Kamjong District had issued a statement serving a 36-hour ultimatum to the District Administration, Kamjong, over the "prolonged economic hardship faced by the Kuki community due to an economic embargo allegedly imposed by the Tangkhul community in Kamjong" .
The Committee demanded immediate intervention by the district administration within the stipulated 36 hours to prevent the situation from further escalating and deteriorating.
Amid the tense situation at Kamjong headquarters, the District Administration and Police Department have been making efforts to resolve the issue through dialogue with representatives of both communities and restore peace.
However, the situation in Kamjong headquarters remains tense, with both communities maintaining their respective positions.
