Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand has called upon all CSOs and the general public to stop calling 'unreasonable' bandhs.
Speaking at the inauguration of a five-day Ganesh Puja at Thokchom Iboyaima Shumang Leela Sanglen, Konung Lampak today, the Chief Minister stated that there can be no development until and unless there is peace in the society.
On account of the prolonged violence and unrest, no one in the State has had a moment of relief for over three years, he said.
The situation is slowly improving but complete peace cannot be restored till date and this will certainly delay development, Khemchand said.

Careers and the future of youngsters and students can be secured only after peace and normalcy are restored.
In order to create such a peaceful atmosphere, youth, students, CSOs and all sections of people need to work collectively, he said.
Khemchand also prayed that the Ganesh Puja may bring peace and harmony among all the communities of Manipur.
Babina Group chairman and managing director Dr Thangjam Dhabali, MLAs Thangjam Arun, Sanasam Premchandra and Sheikh Noorul Hassan were also present at the event organised by the Shri Shri Ganesh Puja Celebration Committee, Manipur.
The event also featured presentation of a Nat Sankirtan performance by Guru L Lakhpati and his party, Gita Path and bhajans.
