Production on Manipuri Folk Dance launched

The Royal Artiste Academy for Cultural Heritage (RAACH), Top Siphai, Tekcham Leirak, Imphal West has successfully launched a 22-days long 'Training cum production on Manipuri Folk Dance" at Top Siphai Community Hall.
The training programme will be conducted from March 11-31, 2024 under the sponsorship of the Cultural Function and Production Grant Scheme (CFPGS) of the Ministry of Culture, Government Of India, said a release issued by RAACH.
The inaugural function was attended by Kh Jugindro Singh, retired Principal, Moirang College; L Tombi Devi, president RAACH; and Th Shyamjai Singh, ex-Ward Member, Thongkhong Luxmi Municipal Council as presidium members.
As part of the function, a seminar was conducted on the topic, "Manipuri Folk Dance and Music" with Kh Jugindro Singh as moderator and Dr Manju Elangbam, Asst Prof, Manipur University of Culture as resource person.
RAACH also honored all the dignitaries and cultural Gurus/experts by presenting Lengyan Phi.
The 22-day training programme will be conducted by one Guru and two Assistant Gurus with the involvement of 20 young trainee artistes in theory cum practical basis.
The trainee artistes will also perform Manipuri folk dance on the last day.
