Imphal, May 04 2026:
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday welcomed the Assembly election results in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry, calling the West Bengal mandate a "historic shift" toward fear-free, development-oriented governance.
ABVP national general secretary Dr Virendra Singh Solanki said the Bengal result reflected public anger against "political violence, lawlessness, syndicate culture, decline in education, women's insecurity, illegal immigration from Bangladesh and limited employment opportunities".
"This mandate in West Bengal symbolises a new dawn.
It is not just a political change, but the outcome of an awakened national consciousness", Solanki said.
He expressed hope the new government would "free the State from violence and fear" and bring changes in education, security, employment and governance.
In a release, ABVP said it has worked in West Bengal on education, women's safety, student rights, employment and illegal infiltration.
The mandate, it said, gives "renewed energy" to those efforts.
On Assam, the ABVP said the result shbwed public confidence in stability and development.
It added that high turnout in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry signaled stronger democratic awareness nationwide.
ABVP Manipur state secretary Gautam Philem congratulated the people of West Bengal and Assam.
He said the mandate reflected aspirations for good governance, peace and youth opportunities.
Gautam expressed confidence the new governments would strengthen education, ensure safety and create jobs.
He said illegal migration from Bangladesh, which has "impacted socio-economic and security conditions", is expected to be addressed with "seriousness and effective policy measures" .
Gautam added that ABVP will continue to work for students and support "constructive efforts" for nation-building.
