Swachhta Hi Seva 2025 observed with cleanliness and plantation drives across Manipur

The Swachhta Hi Seva 2025 campaign was marked across Manipur with widespread cleanliness and plantation drives under the banner of Clean India.
KAKCHING
The District Administration Kakching joined the nationwide observance of Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 with a cleanliness drive at the DC Office Complex, Kakching.
The cleanliness drive conducted at the DC Office Complex was participated by District Level Officers and staff of various departments in the district.
Later, a tree plantation drive was conducted in and around the DC Office Complex.
Also, as part of observance of National Cleanliness Day, mass cleanliness drive was also conducted at District Youth Affairs and Sports Office, ITI Kakching Wairi, PWD Office, ZEO Office, One Stop Centre Kakching, Kakching PHE Division and others.
Watershed Development Component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (WDC-PMKSY) 2.0, Kakching District observed the campaign "Promotion of Swachhata in Watershed Development Projects" by integrating the themes of Swachhata Hi Seva and Swachhata Bharat Diwas 2025.The main highlights of the programme were Horticulture Saplings Plantation Drive, Cleanliness Drive, Awareness Campaigns and pledge taking, commitment of stakeholders including officials, villagers, and students to sustain cleanliness efforts.
The 11th Battalion of the IRB also carried out a cleanliness drive today at its campus located in Kuraopokpi marking the Gandhi Jayanti.
The initiative served as a meaningful step towards environmental conservation and instilled awareness about sustainable practices among the local community.
BISHNUPUR
District Administration Bishnupur, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam, today observed National Cleanliness Day with active participation at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
As part of the observation, a district-wide cleanliness drive and social service activities were conducted across various offices and institutions.
District Level Officers (DLOs) and staff from all line departments took part in cleaning their respective office premises and the surrounding areas of the Mini Secretariat Complex.
In addition, schools across the district under Zonal Education Office (ZEO) Zone IV also carried out cleanliness drives within their campuses, involving students, teachers, and staff.
Highlighting the day's significance, a tree plantation program was also held in the premises of the Mini Secretariat Complex.
The plantation drive was led by DC Pooja Elangbam and joined by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADM) Toijam Opendro, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Waikhom Romabai, Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), Block Development Officers (BDOs), and other district-level officials.
PHERZAWL
The District Administration of Pherzawl observed Swachh Bharat Diwas across the district today.
Deputy Commissioner Mannuamching led the cleanliness drive at the DC Office complex, where officials and villagers actively participated.
Volunteers cleared bushes and undertook collection and proper disposal of waste.
At the DC Camp Office, Lalboi Haokip, SP Pherzawl, spearheaded a parallel cleanliness drive with police officers and personnel enthusiastically joining the effort.
SENAPATI
In observation of the Nation First @75 Campaign nationwide and alignment with the Swachh Bharat Sewa, the District Administration, Senapati led by Deputy Commissioner of Senapati Mamoni Doley organised a Mass Cleanliness Drive today at Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati.
The cleanliness drive saw an active participation by all the departments in group wise including security personnel of CAPF at around their respective offices compound and its surrounding, entrance gate of Mini Secretariat Complex, Sub-Divisional offices, Health institutions, schools, town areas and more.
Later, Senapati DC led the tree plantation drive as part of the Nation First @75 Campaign- Lifestyle for Environment (LIFE) at the DC Office Complex, Senapati emphasizing initiative towards the green actions and environment Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles as part of its continued efforts towards community welfare in line with the nationwide "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign, Assam Rifles organised a Cleanliness Drive at Taphou Naga UJB School, Senapati District, Manipur.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of school students, teachers and troops who joined hands to clean the school premises and surrounding areas.
Educational talks were also conducted to spread awareness among children about the importance of hygiene, waste management and maintaining a clean environment Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Senapati also organized the "Swachhata Hi Seva" Campaign from Sep 17 to Oct 2, 2025, across different parts of the district.
As part of the campaign, cleanliness drives were conducted at religious institutions, educational campuses, and other public places.
Awareness programmes on sanitation and personal hygiene were organized to encourage healthy living practices.
A plantation drive was also undertaken to promote greenery and environmental conservation.
In addition, banners carrying messages on cleanliness were displayed at key public spots to inspire citizens.
To engage the younger generation, a painting competition was held for school students, allowing them to creatively express the importance of cleanliness and a pollution-free environment.
NONEY
In observance of Swacchta Hi Seva 2025 to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a large-scale cleanliness drive was successfully conducted across various locations in Noney district today.
The initiative was jointly organised by several departments and civil society organisations (CSOs) to promote the importance of hygiene and sanitation in public spaces.
At Noney DHQ, the cleanliness drive was spearheaded by the BJP Longmai Yuva Morcha, Jadonang Memorial College, Longmai, and the Longmai Bazar Youth Club.
Under the leadership of Dr Rimmei, principal of Jadonang Memorial College, and Achun Gangmei, president of BJP Yuva Morcha Longmai, the event saw active participation from college faculty and students, local youth volunteers, and community members.
The organisers also conducted an awareness campaign urging the general public to adopt sustainable waste management practices, such as using dustbins and avoiding littering, especially in marketplaces, town centres, and village settlements.
KANGPOKPI
Marking the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, observed nationwide as National Cleanliness Day, the Kangpokpi Police today set an inspiring example of civic responsibility by conducting a mass cleanliness drive at the heart of the town.
The initiative, spearheaded by Officer-in-Charge Inspector H Kipgen, saw the active participation of officers and men of the Kangpokpi Police Station.
The drive commenced early in the morning at 7 am and continued till 8.30 am, covering the stretch from the Police Station premises up to the busy IT Road Bazar Junction area, one of the town's most frequented public zones.
With brooms, and waste bags in hand, the personnel carried out the sweeping, collection, and disposal of garbage, plastics, and other unattended waste materials along the roadside and market vicinity.
The cleanliness campaign not only removed heaps of litter but also restored orderliness to public spaces, resonating with Gandhiji's timeless message of hygiene, discipline, and community service.
ASSAM RIFLES
In a vibrant display of community engagement and environmental stewardship, Chandel District witnessed a series of impactful activities on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and the inaugural day of the 71st Wildlife Week.
These initiatives, led by Assam Rifles in collaboration with local institutions and the Chandel Forest Division, brought together villagers, educators, and security personnel in a shared commitment to peace, sustainability, and ecological balance.
At Larong Khullen, the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi was honoured through interactive sessions that emphasized the power of non-violence and collective responsibility.
Fifty-two villagers participated in discussions and activities that highlighted the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's values in contemporary society, fostering a deeper understanding of peace and social harmony.
Simultaneously, a Tree Plantation Drive was conducted at Government High School, Machi, where 22 dedicated teaching staff planted 135 saplings.
Furthering the message of cleanliness and civic responsibility, a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan drive was carried out at Chandel Christian Mini Stadium.
Fifteen villagers joined hands with 14 personnel from Assam Rifles to clean the premises, reinforcing the importance of hygiene and public participation in maintaining clean surroundings.
