Jan Kalyan Shivir reaches thousands across Manipur districts, ensuring wider access to welfare schemes

Bpr/Cdl/Kak/Pzwl/Ccpur/UkVKam/Kpi, June 19 2026: The three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir (Public Welfare Camp) continued across various districts of Manipur with thousands of citizens benefiting from the outreach initiative aimed at ensuring effective delivery of Central and State Government welfare schemes.

The campaign, conducted from June 17 to 20, brought multiple government departments together on a common platform to provide registration, enrolment, awareness and on-the-spot services to eligible beneficiaries, particularly those in remote areas.

BISHNUPUR

In Bishnupur district, the second day of the camp was held at Chingphu Ningthou Sembileima Haraobung, Ishok, where more than 1,000 citizens attended and availed various welfare services.

Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam inspected the service stalls set up by more than 20 departments and urged officials to work sincerely towards ensuring that every eligible citizen receives the benefits of government schemes.

The DC informed that the nationwide campaign was being conducted from June 12 to 20 with the objective of saturation of welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes.

The final day of the camp in Bishnupur will be held at Maibram Mandop near Ibudhou Thangjing Temple, Moirang.

Departments including Health, Social Welfare, Fisheries, CAF&PD, MSPDCL, Agriculture.

Veterinary and Animal Husbandly, Election, Planning and MSRLM participated in the programme.

CHANDEL

Chandel ditrict concluded the three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir at the SDO Office Complex, Chandel.

During the programme, various departments including Fisheries, Horticulture, Agriculture, Kisan Credit Card, Forest, District Child Protection Unit and Social Welfare set up stalls to register beneficiaries and provide information on government schemes.

Officials interacted with the public and guided them on availing welfare benefits.

KAKCHING

In Kakching district, the public welfare camp continued at the SDO Office Complex, Waikhong, with the final camp scheduled at the DC Office Complex, Kakching.

MLA of Hiyanglam AC Dr Yumnam Radheshyam Singh and Deputy Commissioner Angeline Renita R inspected the facilities and service counters.

Around 380 applications were disposed of during the camp.

Various services provided included enrolment under the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme, Chief Minister's Widow Pension Scheme, PM-KISAN, Kisan Credit Card, Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, CMHT, Startup Manipur Scheme and other citizen-centric services.

CMST welfare scheme cards were also distributed to differently-abled beneficiaries.

PHERZAWL

The second day of the Jan Kalyan Shivir in Pherzawl district was conducted at Parbung under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Anunay Anand and supervision of ADC Zosanglur Joute.

The camp provided services including Aadhaar enrolment health check-ups, CMHT and PM-JAY card registration, and on-the-spot assistance for various schemes.

A total of 78 people participated in the camp, while 58 out of 68 applications received were resolved on the spot.

Departments promoted schemes such as Atal Pension Yojana, PMJJBY, PMSBY, PM-KISAN, Kisan Credit Card, Soil Health Card, PMAY-G, PM Surya Ghar, PM Ujjwala Yojana and PM Vishwakarma.

CHURACHANDPUR

In Churachandpur district, the district-level Jan Kalyan Shivir concluded across all subdivisions with multi-department service camps held at Thanlon, New Zalenphai, Mualnuam, Singngat and Samulamlan.

The programme at New Zalenphai was attended by MLA of 57 Henglep AC Letzamang Haokip, Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar and other officials.

Departments provided services including banking assistance, health check-ups, TB and H1V/AIDS awareness, fisheries and agriculture schemes, PMAY-G, MGNREGS, PM Vishwakarma registration, Aadhaar services, certificates, pension applications and Ayushman Bharat enrolment.

The Veterinary Department also provided free medicines for livestock, while saplings were distributed as part of the green initiative.

UKHRUL

In Ukhrul district, the three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir drive-cum-awareness campaign concluded at the DRDA Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, Hamleikhong, with 1,242 individuals registering for various welfare schemes.

Twenty stalls were opened by different line departments, providing services including Aadhaar enrolment, PM-KISAN registration, TB screening, ST and other certificate issuance.

PM Surya Ghar rooftop solar scheme, handloom and textile schemes, PMJJBY, PMSBY, Weaver's Mudra Loan.

National Fisheries Digital Platform registration.

DDU-GKY, PM-JAY, CMHT, Mobile Medicine Unit and NFSA services.

The campaign was conducted at four block headquarters of Ukhrul district - Ukhrul, Jessami, Ngahui and LM Block.

DRDA Ukhrul recorded 597 beneficiaries, followed by LM Block with 341, Jessami with 205 and Ngahui Chingai with 99 registrations.

KAMJONG

The three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir campaign, which began on June 17 across Kamjong district, concluded successfully today with welfare camps conducted at different venues across the four sub-divisions of the district.

As part of the concluding day programme, public welfare camps were organised at Ramphoi under Kamjong Subdivision, Lungphu Community Hall, under Phungyar Subdivision.

Nambashi Khullen under Kasom Khullen Subdivision and Shingcha Primary School under Sahamphung Subdivision.

The campaign aimed to ensure effective outreach and delivery of various welfare schemes and beneficiary-oriented services of the Central and State Governments to eligible citizens at their doorstep.

During the final day of the campaign, a two-wheeler bike rally was also organised at Kasom Khullen to create awareness under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The rally carried the message, "Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life - Towards a Drug-Free Society".

Around 200 participants, including the Sub-Divisional Officer, Kasom Khullen, District Level Officers, village chiefs and local residents, took part in the awareness rally.

Various government departments participated in the public welfare camps by setting up service counters and providing assistance to the people.

Departments including Social Welfare, Education, Forest, Horticulture, Fisheries, Agriculture, Planning, Health, CAF&PD, Veterinary, PHED, MSPDCL.

MSRLM and RD&PR extended services and disseminated information on different government schemes.

KANGPOKPI

The District Administration, Kangpokpi, concluded the three-day "Jan Kalyan Shivir," a public welfare camp campaign across all nine sub-divisions of the district.

The welfare campaign was successfully conducted across ten locations - Ramgailong, Nungsai Chiru, Sandangsenba Maring, Kalapahar, Saitu-Gamphazol Office.

Saikul SDO Office, Molkon Bazar, T Waichong Villages, T Khullen, and the DC Office, Kangpokpi - witnessing an impressive turnout of approximately 20,000 beneficiaries.

Various departments actively participated in the camps, delivering essential services and benefits to the public.

The Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department extended assistance to beneficiaries, while the State Bank of India (SBI) facilitated the registration of 15 individuals under social security schemes such as PMSBY, PMJJBY, and SSA, among others.

The Zonal Education Office (ZEO) also distributed educational materials to students.
